  • Network of Museums

The Coordination of the Network of Museums-UBA was created in 2002 to encourage the relationship between all the university museums to enhance their development, assist in the dissemination of their activities and cooperate with their requirements regarding conservation and restoration of the museums' collections, documentation and inventory of its pieces, human resources training, research and extension and, also, to improve their facilities.
The Network of Museums carries out outreach activities and  scientific dissemination tasks, enhancing the available resources and creating common spaces for the different disciplinary knowledge. Given the heterogeneity of the Museums’ disciplines, their inclusion in the Network emphasizes their university status, reinforcing an identity and belonging that requires critical reflection on the discipline, professional practices and their history.
The existence of the Network and Coordination shows the willingness of the University to spread knowledge and university heritage.

  • Orchestra

The Orchestra of the University of Buenos Aires, named after former Rector Ricardo Rojas, was created with the aim of disseminating and showcasing  works of the popular repertoire, the latter being understood as the mixture of national folk rhythms, tango and  rock, as well as from neighbouring countries with which we share traditions and cultural heritage.
The main goal of the orchestra is to put into circulation artists and authors which are not well-known or do not fall within the aforementioned genres, as well as to adapt acclaimed works to the instrumental symphonic formation through original arrangements. The orchestra constiutes a space where musicians can train or hone the execution of popular stules, thus expanding the foundations of the traditional symphonic repertoire.

  • Cine Cosmos -Cosmos Cinema-

The acquisition of Cosmos Cinema is a contribution of the University of Buenos Aires to the university community and the film culture of the city, offering alternative film screenings to the whole community.
The Cosmos-UBA Cinema aims to offer premieres and reruns of national and foreign films, fiction and documentaries to new generations of film viewers, with the purpose of presenting new  formats of cinematography.
For this reason, bonds have been established with festivals, exhibitions, social organizations, State institutions and Embassies in order to offer products that account for contemporary cinematographic art as well as the cultures from which it originates.
As a contribution to film history and critical thinking, Cosmos-UBA Cinema also promotes opportunities for reflection through retrospectives, lectures, clinics and the use of archives.

  • EUDEBA -Buenos Aires University Press-

The Editorial Universitaria de Buenos Aires - Buenos Aires University Press - was founded in 1958 with the aim of disseminating and expanding scientific knowledge. The desire forthe Argentine society tohave access to the production generated within the University of Buenos Aires encouraged the creation of one of the most far-reaching publishing projects within the national culture.
This aim coexisted with the spread of knowledge in general , through the publication of economic bibliographies that represent the most recent updates in the different disciplines of knowledge. Consequently, in its origins, EUDEBA’s publishing plans included both the publication of highly specific Handbooks and Treaties, and collections of science popularization that contemplated not only research carried out at UBA but also in other national or  international universities
Over time, the production of knowledge in the University has diversified and specialized, and innovations have been incorporated. All these changes have  impacted on the design of the catalogue of the publishing house which aims to disseminate the knowledge generated in the institution, without distinction of disciplinary areas. These transformations have also affected the circulation of information that has led to new ways of publishing books (e-books) and new of marketing strategies. On the other hand, the volume of academic production has  increased significantly  as a result of the boost in research in the recent years.
For these reasons, EUDEBA currently faces several demands which impact on its commitment to society.
