If you want to take a full University degree at the University of Buenos Aires
To be admitted to a degree program at the University of Buenos Aires, applicants do not have to take an entrance exam. Registration must be done in the Common Basic Course, which constitutes the first stage of university studies for all the courses taught at the University of Buenos Aires.
The CBC has a vocational outlook so that students can really commit themselves to a specific degree program after a year of university life, and after exploring the field of study and application of the different specialties, as well as the real job possibilities for graduates.
The dates and places of registration, and the documentation to be presented are detailed on the CBC website.
Application steps:
Admission of students who have completed their secondary education abroad
To be admitted to the University of Buenos Aires, foreign student must produce evidence of:
a) Argentine National Identity Document or identity document of country of origin;
b) Certificate of secondary level studies. In the event that you have studied abroad, the aforementioned certificate must be validated for the purpose of pursuing university studies in the Argentine Republic, that is to say: it must be LEGALIZED in the country of origin, VALIDATED by the Ministerio de Educación -Ministry of Education- of the Argentine Republic and accompanied by all the academic documentation and the respective legalizations and/or apostilles made in the country of origin, as well as the proofs that state the equivalences, if applicable.
If you do not have your secondary level certificate validated in the Argentine Republic, you must go with the corresponding documentation to the Ministerio de Educación -Ministry of Education- (Montevideo 950, Ground Floor, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), Dirección de Validez Nacional de Títulos de Estudios, to have it validated (http://portales.educacion.gov.ar/vnt/).
To start an undergraduate course, being graduate of another degree course:
Candidates must present a Certificate of secondary level studies validated by the Ministerio de Educación -Ministry of Education-. Additionally, candidates should validate or revalidate, as appropriate, their university studies in the Argentine Republic.
The legalization of photocopies for admission to a second university degree is done at the University of Buenos Aires, in the Dirección de Legalizaciones de la Dirección General de Títulos y Planes (Secretariat of Legalization of the General Secretariat of Degrees and Plans of Studies). The validated Certificate of secondary level studies and the University degree certificate duly validated or revalidated, as appropriate, should be presented together with a photocopy of it, which will be certified.
To carry out the LEGALIZATION process, you must previously request an APPOINTMENT through the website: www.legalizaciones.rec.uba.ar
To be fully admitted as a student, foreign candidates who might not have submitted their National Identity Document at the time of admission must present evidence of it in the Common Basic Course -Ciclo Básico Común- before it has been completed or after two (2) semesters of the school year.
Foreign students naturalized in Argentina or with a permanent residence:
The same rules applicable to Argentine students are valid, so candidates must register for the CBC with a National Identity Document at the end of the year prior to the beginning of the school year.
If you have not validated the Certificate of secondary level studies in Argentina, you must do it in the Ministerio de Educación -Ministry of Education- (Montevideo 950, Ground Floor, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), Dirección de Validez Nacional de Títulos de Estudios -National Validity Direction of Degrees-, to initiate the process (http://portales.educacion.gov.ar/vnt/).
Once the Certificate has been validated, you must present it at the CBC before classes start.
